I´ll try to translate from a Swedish newspaper. Earlier this year a 18 yo kid went to school and hurt 37 ppl and then took his own life. The kid had played CS.Edmund Stobier a minister in Bayern said that he would like to forbid violent computergames. Now Günther Beckstein (another minister) wants to make games where you hurt people illegeal. People who play, sell and make the games could be sent up to 1 year in prison I lost the artikel but I think you who know german can read it in a paper called dir spiegel or something..

Relax Relax, Always when something terribles like that happens, some kind of politician wants to promote hisself by screaming out loud that games, music and stuf like that should be forbidden. They only do that for the publicity, not cause they realy want to do it. Furthermore it will be very difficult to make it illegal. So, keep playing ET, shoot eachoter in the ass or face but remember that it is a game

Here is what i think: There will be no law forbidding these games, the talking is already going less, ppl will forget over time. Also, there is no way you can get it all away, many games contain violence (also all kinds of RTS-games), politicians intentions is only to get more votes at the next elections, this would be a threat to them

In France for chrismath in all shops of game you can see in demonstration the news games where people do that. a play like it is not dangerous for young people cause it doesn't seem to be real, but with the news games and the news consols you seem to look after a film and it's not a good thing. war games are not dangerous ( i think) but games of free vilence are really really dangerous and like if it's says that they are forbidden for young people they can play to they. REALLY REALLY BAD

u cant but it is simple, it is forbidden in germany to do hitler greeting, or have ss runes or stuff like tht , even on internet, so return to castle wolfenstein has a warning on there website that says germans cant see it..
u cant enforce this rule but it is to cover therer asses so they dont get sued ot whatever...
u can never stop a person from visiting a certain website, only when you are the goverment are a 100 percent dedicated u can do this, but then only for 90 percent (look at china)

GTA series and some other K-18 games. And China bans websites, and i read from somewhere that one finnish companys sells "ban programs" to china

Didn't Australia ban a car game a while back (Project Gotham Racing?) because it allowed you to street race in Sidney? Obviously a foul attempt from the game makers to turn good Australian people into menacing street racers Doesn't Germany have more strict game banning policy than most other european countries too? I've heard something like this, so it doesn't really surprise me that this kind of news comes from Germany.

parents should control their children, i still live with my parents. my dad plays almost all the games i buy, he even buys the double so we can play toghether online my dad knows wich games i play, if he sees something that doesnt like him, he just says it, if id keep playing it, he destroys it and it will be image but no sound from my dad for a whole mounth, conclusion: know what ur children play best way to do that: play games yourself and watch the games ur son plays, even advise him to fall back (in ET for example) or get an ambush, it will get u a fine connection with ur child and u will see its fun lol cya gesp stylo

REALLY REALLY BAD if you do that you can forbid all games, i eman all games soemone gets killed, gets robbed, gets scammed, the games is not the problem , the kids playing who cant see the diffrence between the game and reality.. the sould responsibility for teaching kids the diffrence between wrong and right lies with the parrents, you can not blaim a game because soem kid shoot other kids,, u can blaim the parrents for not controlling there kid u can blaim the parrents for havign a gun wich there kid has access too u can blaim the parrents for shoving there kid behind the computer instead of doing soemthing constructive with them..

I had a big unfinished fancy post for this, but I got some comp problems and got it deleted A short summary of it goes: This is not going to happen because: 1) Many European countries will probably feel that it is a step back when when talking about the right of free speech 2) It would severely hurt the gaming industry (What would Rockstar games be without GTA?) 3) It wouldn't stop people from playing games, it would only increase piracy (if you can't buy games, would you just deal with it or would you download them from the internet) Other alternative is that it is going to happen which will result in me losing my faith in humanity.
