Red Bull 1 Today's race was one big Chaos... the chaos began even before the start, when Montoya was turned and Fisichella had problems with engine.. Safety car was on track many times, because we've seen many crashes Schumacher could have placed top 5, if he hadn't made that stupid mistake, and could even overtake Button, who had bad luck and his engine exploded in the last meters of the race... Good race for Kimmi, finally. It is good to see that Toyota managed to place good, as well. Who can stop Renault? That is a million dollar question that nobody has answer on it, and i think that the domination of them has began. For plc-clan, Mickey was reporting live from Melbourne, Australia Mickey

u are right about dominating renault Mickey but domination will not last long(ferrari was dominating 6 yrs).I dont think they are able to continue with that kinda way for 5 yrs.Mc laren is so down on the bottom so it cat be worse so they will be raising up in next races i suppose. But we should wait to start Europian part of championship ant then we will see how teams are equal if they are....cya bigsteak

The key to Renault's double title success last year was put down to their impeccable reliability and performance in the opening races of the season, and unfortunately for their rivals, the 2006 season has began in the exact same fashion with the Losange racing to victory in the opening three races. It seems that the teams bidding to topple Renault have failed to learn from their mistakes of last year. Reliability and consistency during the three fly-away races were always going to be the key to success this season and Honda, Ferrari and McLaren have simply failed to reach that target. Ferrari may have challenged for the win in Bahrain but this could be put down to the nine-day test that the Scuderia conducted at the same circuit just weeks before the opening race of the season, while the high temperatures in Malaysia aided Jenson Button to third in Malaysia. McLaren, who introduced what team boss Ron Dennis described as a ' quantum step' in performance for Australia, are clearly the closest rivals to Renault but while the official result reads Kimi Raikkonen finishing second by just 1.8 seconds, the multiple safety car periods masked what could have been a 30-second winning margin for Alonso. "Kimi was closing in the final laps, but I was controlling my performance, and there was no worry – I was even running the engine turned down," Alonso said. "My engineer was panicking a bit as the McLaren closed in, but I was reassuring him over the radio… "In fact, it wasn't a very difficult race," he admitted. "I got the lead, our strategy worked well and I built a gap that meant I could manage the safety car periods quite comfortably." Team boss Flavio Briatore admitted that he was 'embarrassed' by the ease in which Alonso took victory, while chief engineer Pat Symonds was even 'surprised' by their pace and performance in race trim. The championship now returns to Europe for the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola on April 21-23, offering the teams the first true opportunity to modify and develop thier cars. Renault are set to introduce a new-spec engine for round 4 at Imola, and given that they are working from a strong base in the three-race winning RS26, it is conceivable that the new unit can only push the team further away from their rivals. McLaren the are known to have detuned their Mercedes engine by as mush as 35bhp for the three flyaway races in order to guarantee reliability, and any effort to push the limits even further just to stay in touch with Renault could prove disastrous. Alonso has shown that he has the confidence, the car and the ability to hold off any challenge, and with 28 points already under his belt, compared to the 26 that he had at this time last year, the Spaniard is already firmly on course to retain is title Alonso will be stay happy for while Mickey

I am stupid and i don't get it, but np... I like getting up early in the morning (3 am or so) and watch formula, at least there is nothing disturbing me in the house (parents or sisters) during the race If u are a true fan of formula 1, there shouldn't be a problem to watch all the races, no matter the time. But now, that we know, how will win 3/4 of the races, we can rather go for a walk with our familly (NOT ) Mickey

the tyres are very important in a race and ferrari is driving with old ones from past season cause they had not enough time to test new ones
and they cant change from bridgestone to michelin cause equal tyres like other teams is not good idea cause if there is some thing wrong with the tyres both will lose and ferrari need to win
they have to take the other suplier to have any chances to win

He doesn't have the right to critize the tyres this year I agree, that last year bridgestone's tyres were much worst than Michelin's, but this year, Bridgestone gained some more f1 teams, and i think that have done good. It was Scumacher's fault that he got 0 points. This year the teams are allowed to switch tyres during the race and Ferrari should have done better. Have you noticed that Ferrari was much slower with new wings, that have to be attached I think that Schumacher has to blame others, cause he doesn't make mistakes Well, Big Steak, for who will you cheer know, when you find out, that Schumacher isn't really a fair guy after all? Here is a beer 4 u, so you will make you decision wisely Mickey

News from Toyota's team: Toyota Formula One team have confirmed that technical director Mike Gascoyne has been suspended due to a "fundamental difference of opinion with regard to the technical operations." Gascoyne, who signed up with Toyota in late 2003 after productive stays with Jordan and Renault, refused to comment. Rumours spread on Tuesday that Gascoyne had left in light of deteriorating professional relations with senior management but Toyota confirmed that he had indeed been suspended. A Toyota Motorsport spokesman said: "Due to a fundamental difference of opinion with regard to the technical operations of its Formula One team, Toyota Motorsport has suspended its Technical Director Chassis, Mike Gascoyne, until further notice." "Toyota Motorsport will not make any additional comments on this matter at this time." After several podium finishes in the last year's Formula One season - finishing a team-best fourth in the constructor's championship - Toyota have begun 2006 precariously; suffering difficulties with the TF106 chassis' grip. Gascoyne is well-known in the F1 world for being very strict and straightforward with the way he wants his teams to be run; perhaps precipitating this suspension in a company that is more conservative than some other F1 manufacturers. Gascoyne was regarded as the sport's highest paid technical director - a salary of $6.5m - until Red Bull signed Adrian Newey from McLaren this year. Reports say that Toyota, who are reputed to have the biggest budget in the F1, will replace Gascoyne with Frenchman Pascal Vasselon who joined the team after leaving Michelin last year.
