Now lets forget about big words battalion or company , in the future the biggest formation of troops will probably be a platoon. Why ? an old example, the indian wars in america:
the yanks discovered gold in the black hills, but the black hills were holy propery for the sioux indians... how could you get the gold without getting attacked by sioux then??? simple, just kill them... well, maj custer tried to kill a sioux village with its US cavalry, but he couldnt overpower them...
here we have 2 examples, fighting for riches on the one hand, and fighting for religion on the other side (like the djihad terrorists if you know what i mean)
another example: the american civil war, the south had alot of riches the nothern american politicians wanted... war.... excuse, "we want to make all black people free" cause there were alot of slaves in the "uncivilised and not-industrial south"

About the Đihad, those boys are religious fanatic's.

They brainwash them from their childhood to believe if they die for alah they will be re payed whit 70 virgins and a place in heaven.
These boys have nothing, so so people like AL qaida offer them good's, for their role in the holy war.
As in war profit.
In USA u have 3 main lobbies, Alcohol , tobacco and firearms.
When USA goes to war, they need ammo tank's car's, planes, guns, rifles, food clothes etc etc...
People that make ammo guns aircrafts, are self contractors.
Government pays them for the tanks ammo etc...
And those are the people who make the most money, are placed high up the social ladder and it's in their best interest, for USA to wage war's.
Why did u think they choose Iraq ?

Because they have no profit in darfur like in Iraq whit their oil supply's.

And yet i don't see USA troops there.

true... lol, i should be happy then that there IS war, so new techniques can be tested and sold (mostly belgian made) or landmines :-p (and if there isnt, we just sell brand new, ready to test weapons to the maffia like a few years ago  ) but in darfur, finally there will be a UN peace force to reinforce the 7000 men strong black army that was underequipped etc... |

The cost of money spent at Iraq is 200 million $ per day !!!
Iraq war is going into its 3 year thats 36x6 = 216 Billion dollars spent!
That 216 billion dollars someone profited from the war.
Cost of the total war is expected to cross over 1 trillion dollars, yes thats 1 trillion dollars.
Now u still believe the war is about fighting sadam's rezim ?
No its about people who make 6 billion dollars per month.
U know how much people USA could help whit that amount of money?
Or spending the money for research of cure for viruses etc.
After the war ends, u have people whit multi million building contract in Iraq.
