But the best way to ensure you get one, is put your name on the waiting list...or wait outside the shop all night for 6am opening times, and be right in there ;D

remember people, microsoft has developted xbox and xbox 360... i 'wait' until ps3 comes then i spent my money... Thats annoying...all these people competing for games consols, and you want them both because they are really good...but you can't afford them, and then you feel sad because when you get one, games are released on the other console, and then 3 years later your having to dish out a further £300 for the latest one... Hmmm...that's why i avoid them completly!!

I downloaded the 650 meg demo of call of duty 2 and it is just as good as the x box 360 and i only have a nvidea 5200 low middle spec graphics card.
If you have not seen it i recommend you download it it is brilliant look forward to seeing the multi player demo
I saw them silly yanks in the rain waiting for the first sales of 360 s and as you said iron 1000 pounds on ebay mad fools
yes as you mentioned it is Microsoft but then again so is my PC and the availability of cheap games is always an attraction as console games are so expensive.
I read that the PS3 is going to be high definition compatible I can not even afford a plasma never mind a hi definition TV

The Xbox 360 has virtually sold out in the UK as gamers rushed to snap up Microsoft's next generation games console, say retailers.
Dedicated fans queued overnight or in the early hours of the morning in the light of limited stocks.
Hundreds of Xbox 360s have appeared on the online auction site eBay, selling for more than double the retail price.
The limited stock has led retailers and gamers to criticise Microsoft for not supplying enough machines.
Midnight wait
In the UK, more than 200 gamers have queued for hours in the rain for the midnight launch of the console at Game's flagship store in London's Oxford Street
The first to lay his hands on the 360 was Kevin Sage, 33, of Sydenham, south London, who had waited outside the store since 1445 GMT.
"We have been waiting in this queue for hours and hours and now I can't wait to get home and play this game," he said.
"I've made so many new friends through this, it's a surreal experience and I will remember this for the rest of my life."
Elsewhere, hardcore gamers got up early on Friday to try to find the Xbox 360.
While some struck lucky, many others were left disappointed.
"Thought I'd wake up at 5am then sneak down to Toys 'R' Us in Nottingham. Got there at 5:50am. No joy though, over 20 queuing up!" wrote one gamer in a posting to a forum on the Xbox Scene fan site.
"I went to Telford Curry's this morning, 7:20am. I was 5th in the queue. Opened at 8am only to announce they had four. Four! Gutted," said another posting.
Lucrative bidding
Most retailers say they have sold out of all their stock.
"It is unlikely that we will have any fresh product for a couple of weeks. Hopefully we will have some in store before Christmas that people can buy," said a HMV spokesperson.
For Asda, non-food director Tony Page said: "As predicted, we counted them in and counted them out quick as a flash. Someone at Microsoft seriously needs their ears Xboxing for failing to give us enough to go round."
Some have started cashing in on the frenzied demand for the 360.
A search by the BBC News website on online auction site eBay late on Friday found more than 2,000 consoles, with most going for around £600.
Microsoft has tried to reassure fans, saying that more Xbox 360s would arrive in the UK next week.
Though with the launch in Japan looming on 10 December, and pressure on Microsoft to replenish US stories, supplies to the UK may be limited.
Resentful fans
"The Xbox 360 launch has gone fairly smoothly," said Forrester Research analyst Paul Jackson. "The biggest fly in the ointment is that there aren't enough units.
"This is potentially damaging for Microsoft in the short-term, particularly within the hardcore gaming community," he told the BBC News website.
"People who trusted Amazon or Game with a pre-order are resentful. Half of that is directed at the retailer, but a lot of that is passed on to Microsoft."
The Xbox 360 is one of the most eagerly-awaited consumer electronics debuts of the year.
The console, which went on sale across Europe on Friday, marks the start of a new era in the history of video games.
It was released in the US on 22 November and hits Japan on 10 December.
The worldwide release gives Microsoft an early start in the race to dominate an industry worth $25bn globally.
Sony and Nintendo are working on new consoles but they are not expected to be out until sometime next year.
Video games are hugely popular in the UK. More than 40% of British household, accounting for 11 million homes, own at least one games console, according to Jupiter Research.
The Xbox 360 costs £209.99 or £279.99 including a package of accessories.

Nasty.... im a ps man myself, always have been. I wont even bother with the thought of playing, let alone actually buying one of these xbox 360's. I know the ps3 will wipe the floor with this, although i dont like the new controler. But with all the trouble of the rumble technoligy in the duel shock 2 they have had to change things a bit. I'll probally end up butcheing the case of the old ps2 to fit with the new ones, the fact there all wireless sujests no backwards compatiblity with the old controlers. Still only a minor complaint but it will be worth it. YES PLEASE, I'LL HAVE 2, IN BLACK!!!!!

last time i cheacked how many ps2 games i have, i had just hit the 60+ mark. I begining to think i spend to much money on games. Not to mention how many ps1, pc, and other system games i have.
Conceived initially by Ericsson, before being adopted by a myriad of other companies, Bluetooth is a standard for a small , cheap radio chip to be plugged into computers, printers, mobile phones, etc.A Bluetooth chip is designed to replace cables by taking the information normally carried by the cable, and transmitting it at a special frequency to a receiver Bluetooth chip, which will then give the information received to the computer, phone whatever

In the past i would have agread with you but with the state of thinggs xp being a pain antivirus software firewall software and other crap running in the back ground waiting 1 min to start up. all of these things somtimes its great to just push the on button insert a disk and play a game. on the downside the controles for cross hairs on all the consoles i have used suck no real fine movement. an example of that is medal of Honour on pc sniper mode was great on the xbox crao on the ps2 crap but the call of dutty 2 is very good

Yet again you are corect but for all your hacking and other clever PC stuff you use a pc.
I ment if you want to just play games why not jusy use a console
it is amazing how many people have a very powerfull pc and all they do is play solitair and use MSn i had several freinds that used their pc for real time encryption for sky tv it sat inline with their recever and their tv just because they could they did not even lie footbal
