I have a razer copperhead, great mouse, great feuters has a program where u can customize almost everything. On the bottom of the mouse is a little button, from where u can choose up 5 pre-made profiles, to suit u in every situation. Its fast reliable. made from good materials, after almost 2 years of "abuse" still works perfectly. But 1 minus future is, its kinda small, takes some getting use to, so if u have a big palm, and u want a firm support for you whole hand not a good mouse 4 u.
I also have the razer mantis speed control mat, its huuuge 35x30 cm. U need a lot of room, its made from special fibers, its smooth, stain resistant, but after u use it for a while the edges start to unbind...
There is no problem if u use you table as a surface, but the pads offer more comfort to your hand, a smoother surface for your mouse, and the laser is more responsive to it. So yeah but a mat. And when u are buying a mouse, best thing u can do is to go to a PC store and try them out.

Ok guys, thanks for the info. I have been to the shop to try some mouses. I like the Razers but (as XXX told me) they are pretty small. Now I know why he plays with his toes instead of fingers ;D. It will be the G5 2007 edition (with 2 buttons for the thumb) because it's most similair to the mx 510 i play with and i like that model. Now i have to go in search for a mat before buying the mouse.

they are looking good!
yes, it take a while to get the best touch for the mouse and pad because G5 has a lot of things that you can edit and mix eg. the optimal weight for fragging, or you can change the DPI lower when you use MG42 etc.
your G5 has a little bit cooler design than mine ;D
razer exactmat costs ~45€ ?

I paid 65 euro for the mouse and 25 for the mat, which is (i think) a good price. I think the difference in this design is the extra button I have at the thumb side. I also don't know exactly how much of the weights I have to put inside, still figuring out what the best feeling is.

As i played earlier with a very very very old mouse before G5 ( almost needed help to get the mouse move ) i put all the weights in and thats it ;D remember to modify the actions to buttons in setpoint...
