Star Wreck VI: In the Pirkinning is a finnish movie that can be downloaded for free from the internet. It is lasts about 1 hour and 40 minutes (if i remember correctly). The plot in the Star Wreck is about captain Pirk who has gone to the past. He tries to live there with two fellow officers that are in the past with him without chancing the past too much. The two officers that are with captain Pirk are commanders Info and Dwarf. If you have watched Star Treks you might see the similarities between Info (Wreck) and Data (Trek) or Dwarf (Wreck) and Worf (Trek). Also the ships are from Star Trek and Babylon 5. The man behind Star Wreck is Samuli Torssonen. He started making the first Wreck movies on his computer, altough they were only very simple animations with little plot and sound. Also their graphics were quite simple. The fifth Wreck was first with human actors. The sixth Wreck took over six years to finish. It is spoken in finnish and can be downloaded with or without english subtitles. There are also unofficial languages available to download from the site, they are made by fans of the Wreck movies. Here is a list of available languages to download: Croatian, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Klingon, Lithuanian, Polish, Portugese, Serbian, Spanish. It's very funny movie. So download it, it doesn't cost. But of course the word Finnish 'll turn everyone away. Lets just hope that people ignore the fear of Finnish language. Even i feared at first on how does Finnish language affect my viewing enjoyment when the subject is sci-fi parody. Neither of them isn't a very popular movie type in Finland so i only hear english on such mocie types. But i still liked it If Jani knows any other Finnish sci-fi or parody movies then please tell me. |
