I wanted to make this poll because i couldn't find one from any previous threads or polls. Write what class you would choose if your team would have good amount of all classes so that you could choose any class you like(and the weapon for that class) My favourite is usually an engineer with rifle because of the rifle-grenade. I just love to blow people with the grenades

Both are kind of hard workers and helping team with ammo or health. But I voted Field ops.

Thank you for making this poll, 81. As per your request, I will be as frank as possible.
My favorite class is Engineer. With very few exceptions, the whole game rotates around this pivotal class. And I like the rifle-nade, both for attack and for defense, the only drawback being that it takes up too much stamina from the Eng-specific power bar, which actually may leave me just sitting by the objective, waiting... and waiting... until I have enough stamina to finish that particular engineering task.
This much said, I will very quickly change to Medic if there is a better Eng than myself. But I don't actually enjoy playing Medic (too much fuss with different syringes and such), unless I feel like I am on "bodyguard detail" for someone I personally like.
My third most frequent option is Soldier with Panzer or Portable MG, but only when the situation is desperate.
FOps is all very nice and well, but I can't aim the binoculars and move at the same time, and as such I don't usually feel happy when I have to be FOps. Destroy tanks and hand-out ammo, sure, it's cool, but not when you have to stay put while aiming, like a, well, a "standing duck".
My least frequent choice of class is CovOps. Not really necessary, and I really don't have it in me to play deceitfully by going around stabbing people in the back, sniping from a distance, and pretending I'm someone I'm not. Of course, mine-spotting can help a lot in some maps, but I don't think it's enough to make a whole new class. Covops is the one class I would gladly do without on an upgrade to ET.

I like to be an Engineer (and so I voted). The rest is also interresting, but I think, on the work fo the Engineer depands a lot. He often finish the battle and this is beautiful. I know, of course, that in the teem should be Medic, Covert-Op (nobody voted in it) and the rest of specialities (it depends on the current mission).

Destroy tanks and hand-out ammo, sure, it's cool, but not when you have to stay put while aiming, like a, well, a "standing duck". I know what you mean about the aiming when running.. this is something that i have managed to master though. I set the 'B' button on my keyboard to bincoulars so it's somewhat easier for me to access the bincoculars.. When i first started going Field Op (since i first started the game) i've just kept practiceing and i can do it with ease now.. i know how all the aiming with bincoulars works... Engineer is another class that i've been using more often. Like you said, the game evolves around this class, and i felt the personal need to improve in this class, which i have. So in the game, you'll most likely see me as Field Op, medic, or engineer.. I go what my team needs But if my teams has all the classes it needs (which sometimes annoys me ) i'll go Covert op or solider to get some variety.. spice it up a lil lol ;D

a covops with a paratroop fg-42 rifle or the k43 and m1 garand
plus it also slows down the enemys attack a lot, and is a huge advantage to allies in fuel dump and dessert temple because of the barriers!

How many of you know how to use mortar? I havent used it much but it seems quite difficult to master. Tell me your experiences with mortars. Also are they more usefull in defending or attacking? How fast is a mortar shell?

The mortar is not difficult to use. You have to look at the map to see where your shells are landing and adjust accordingly. You can also use the 'finder' thing in the middle of the sights. Actually, the mortar is fairly useless generally. Next time you see someone using it check out how many people they are killing - chances are its not very many, Places where the mortar is OK:
Battery - allies - cover the ramp building by mortaring area above where ramp deploys Battery - allies - spawn kill the axis by firing the mortar into the bunker (you have to find the right place to do this from, Im not telling) - you might get kicked for it though Battery - axis - spawnkill the allies (bit hit and miss though) Fuel dump - axis - stop bridge building and tank Fuel dump - allies - interdict ridge of hill and mg tower Oasis - axis - spawnkill allies (at any spawn) Oasis - allies - spawnkill axis (at any spawn) Radar - I have found absoutely no use for it at all - even as axis mortaring the area where the truck is is useless really (compared to what you could be doing as a fd ops for example) Temple - axis - hold up tank and bridge building Railgun - axis - spawnkilling allies at either spawn and hitting the top of railgun Railgun - allies - spawnkilling
There are others but - in my opinion you can achieve much better results as fd ops with arty. With the mortar you can remain hidden (a little) but you need to replenish ammo really quick

My favorite class? I go to the covert one 'cause can make a lot of confusion n disorientation(Localizing the enemy). About the weapon, cases like going inside of the depot(fuel depot) n mostly i prefer the sten. The FG42 Paratroop rifle i just use it in the beach of the seawall battery. I don't like it because at difference of the sten, the FG42 has a very low accuracy.

The soldiers dont seem to get a lot of votes, but thats propably because they aren't needed like engineers, field ops or medics.
If you are a soldier what weapon would you choose?
I would propably take MG or a Flamethrower.
