HELP !!! impossible to connect

Hi,

i have a big problem, it's impossible to connect our server since 3 days...
When i try to connect, i have the awaiting challenge don't stop, it runs till 50 and more.
What happens, can someone help me ? it do that on both servers..

seems more people have this problem, including my self.
i simply leave the game, then restart the game, then i can connect to all servers.

I tried it iron, but it doesn't work, i tried to connect by Xfire and my shorcut, but it doesn't work...

i had a similar problem today, but i kept waiting and did some other stuff (like ~20 minutes). when i came back, i was in.

weird, it is not us, we didnt change anything in our game

ok, it's all right now, i uninstal and reinstal ET, it works, i dont don't what happend......

i had tht waiting stuff too, i didnt reinstall it works fine now..

when u reinstall game make sure u tell me i need to add you to shrubbot again..

also when u reinstall game make sure you get maps and mods out of etmain folder before u delete the game, then after everything is done and u reinstalled the game you can put back maps,mods into etmain folder, that saves u a lot of downloading.

sure, i copied my ETmain, but, i didnt need to paste it, because when i reinstaleted it, all maps and config were still there, i dont know why, i kept all my parameters, the maps, and the shrub...

i think i found the problem of this mess. here a quote of the article (dated 16 october):

Since the new punkbuster release 1.279 many of you have had problems connecting to several servers. The cause of this is an outdated PBNS.DAT which comes from the previous version and is not automatically updated, because one is now less than ever possible to connect to that server. Not until you have been connected the actual Punk Buster software is loaded if there is a difference between client and server. If you connect to servers which are running the last PB Update and the client is running an old version, the PBNS.DAT avoids an GUID authentification (awaiting gamestate) because of operating with outdated data for the masterserver. (new: 192.246.40.62 - pbguidauth.idsoftware.com)

Solution

* 1. download pbsetup.exe from Click Here Now...
* 2. delete or rename the old pb-directory and create a new one in which you copy the downloaded file.
* 3. start pbsetup.exe, follow the instructions and download a completely new pb-software.
* 4. connect to an updated server, like this one, and you will receive a new PBNS.DAT from that server.
* 5. done!
