Hello all, While i played this week, there are some things happened. The first thing is: - When an axis is shooting with mortars from his spawnpoint, can you kill him than or is that spawnkilling? And the 2nd and most recently thing that happened: - When i was playing yesterday at goldrush, i secured the 2nd goldcrate and than went upstairs on mg closest to bank. I killed 6 people, but flying had said that no one could shoot at spawnexits. My question now is: When i am standing at mg, and i wont shoot at spawnexits, the people standing in spawn or at exits wont shoot me too than? I like to clear this in my head, cause i see these things, with trouble against our rules. thnx all, Davonius

Sometimes flying is a bit too harsh on the rules, you can run through the spawn of a enemy as long as you dont stay there adn wait for the enemy to respawn... you can take any exit of the enemy spawn under fire as long as you dont directly shoot into the respawn (all most all respawns have 2 exits).. Hope that i answered everything

Especially if the guy manning the MG is a Medic. This, more than once. You have to see/explain things in their full context, Davonius, otherwise even concentration camps can be justified as a good thing. Plus, Davonius, dropping air raids right in front of Axis spawn at the Oasis is not exactly fairplay... In my book, that falls in the same category as mining the exits of the spawn. But ok, maybe I'm exaggerating in my concept of "spawn-killing". Guess I'll have to spawn-skirt your team for a couple and campaigns and then you'll tell me how you feel about that, ok Davonius?

Since long I feel that precise definitions of what is spawnkilling for each spawnpoint of each map should be discussed, agreed upon, and taken into written form.
That is a lot of work with potential for creating nasty discussions but it would, once done, save us from having to rely on each individual interpretation of what is spawnkilling while providing a basis for negotiating rules of engagement for clanwars...

As for my using the Mortar Fire from Allies first spawn on the Oasis (on a different day when Davonius, on reversed teams, dropped an Air Raid at the front door of my spawn, i.e. the flaghouse, and later also at the second Axis spawn near the wooden stairs -- what worries me is that, to Davonius, there is nothing wrong in bombarding the enemy spawn...), pls note that I did so only because it was virtually impossible to leave my spawn, as all the exits were covered to an absurd extreme by a swarm of enemies, most of them not PLC, but of course encouraging PLCers on their team to adopt a likewise extreme behaviour -- typical mob psychology.
And still, if I used the Mortar, at the same time enemy F.Ops were coming to my spawn to drop air raids there!
Once again, you need to see the whole picture here before you can make a clear evaluation of what is -- and what isn't --excessive spawnskirting/overkilling by Heavy Weapons/Air Raids.

That much said, ZĂ©cristo is right: we need to define very clearly what is spawnkiling and what isn't.
Short of that, we need to start listening to what the Referee(s) tell you to do, because that's what Refs are there for: to use their good sense and sound judgment to keep the match balanced.
And, speaking for myself, I sometimes (I was going to write "often") spend at least 50% of my time on-line keeping an eye on what's going on both teams -- my own team included (that is, if I haven't decided to stop playing at all and only spectate certain players, to make sure their tking and spking aren't just simple cases of "shit happens").

Thnx Ironmen. Thnx Flying, Sure thats good. I just wanted to tell this, and i dont think its fair to drop airraids at spawn, but it happens. Im glad you all think this is a problem. And if there is anything on my responsebility, id like to hear that/ Because i think all the negative and positive reactions of players, make me a better player I hope i gave my info, otherwise ill hear from it soon....
