Well, uhm back on topic xD
Hi btw
Just to clear some stuff up about ETPro and the so-called Killermedics.
ETPro is just a mod, nothing else than a mod. The only problem is that it was made for 2.6b (the update of 2.55, 2.55 = the version on which we all play at the PLC servers) competitive purposes and that it doesn't really do justice to 2.55. I almost play only at ETPro servers, because I like the mod, since it does have better (better in the meaning of more suited for competitive play) settings and stuff than for example jaymod/whaleclient etc.
The problem with 2.55 is, once again if you want to go 'pro' and play competitively, that it isn't suited for it. Hitboxes dont match, more lag, some PB problems, all in all it isnt as good as 2.6.
Now, about the killermedics. In my experience, and I think I'm quite experienced at playing ET
, there are (sort of) 3 kinds of playing. You either play pubstyle, like PLC does. It means that some very lowskilled players (aka big friggin noobs, we've all seen them
) come at your server, you play funny and nice maps, you try to keep teams balanced, you have some adminrights, you can joke around if you want etc etc etc. However, this does certainly not mean that good players cant play at a pub. It doesnt mean that you do not play for objective, but it just means that it's not really important, you're just having fun (:
Another thing is competitive play. That is something that I play almost all of the time. The played mod = ETPro. This means that the rules and settings are standard, just like any other (sports)match. You ain't gonna play football at a field where the goals are 3 times bigger than at your own pitch right?
I'm talking about scrims/clanwars/matches, or whatever you'd like to call it. The main word at 2.55 is scrim. It just means a match with, most of the time, 6 players on each team, and if not it are less players (o rly?)
There are some standard rules (4 mines per team, 1 rifle with grenades per team, 1 heavy weapon per team etc.) and standard maps. Sometimes a new map is included in basic scrim maps, as happened recently with Bremen and Karsiah.
Standard maps are: Braundorf, Supply, Frostbite, Adlersnest, Bremen, SW (means StopWatch) Goldrush and Oasis (these maps are edited so they are more suited for fast competitive play), Radar and Ice.
Perhaps I forgot some, but these are just some names. Btw, the only way you can win a match is by reaching the objective faster than your opponent.
As mentioned before, the killermedics, where the hell do they come from?
Well most annoying players are sad, annoying, dutch kids, 13/14 years old and with a wide (vocubalary) range of diseases at their disposal. At least, that's what I've noticed.
But killermedics? What are killermedics? I mean, I frag alot and I'm medic most of the time, so does that make me a killermedic?
"Killermedics don't heal and they only play for themselves" is what I hear frequently. I think, no offence, that people are called KM (killermedics) by people that do not know , or think about, the other styles of playing.
There were 3 right? Ye, and the third one adds up all the other crap I said in this way to long story
The 3rd way is pubbing on a ETPro server without playing for the objective. Now some of you might say wtf? where's the use?
Well, ET at competitive level is based on skills. Aim, maptactics and knowledge (how to hit a riflenade, spawntimes, strafe jumping for fast movement and WAY MORE other stuff). You can only train aim and knowledge on your own, so where do you go to train those? To a ETPro server without playing for the objective
Because objective means to end a map, and you want the map to not stop so you can keep playing.
And Medic is the main class. Ofcourse. Most health, can heal eachother, can heal yourself, why would you be fieldops in one on one combat? You get owned by skilled medics. And yes, you need multiple classes to win a match, but come on, covert ops is kinda useless most of the time (at the competitive maps at least)
Sometimes players come to pubs like PLC, select medic class and start going bezerk at their enemies without focusing on objective. That's another style of playing, one that does not fit your (PLC) style of playing, the same way that your style obviously doesnt fit the competitive play.
Ofcourse these KMs can be annoying, and yes, some players do not heal, but their are just asses all over the world, you dont need to play a game to experience that.
It's just the colliding of multiple playing styles that sometimes leads to misunderstanding, irritation and similair things. I think we all need to loosen up a bit and accept these styles and players, it makes it more fun for everyone.
And ofcourse, if dipshits like Xaider start talking shit like he did, you need to kick and ban these asses, but keep an open mind to players like me
I hope I've taught you guys something about ETPro and skilled players and may it lead to a better world
Cya around fellas
PS: YBF stop spamming me with emails with love letters, I am way over you
